Metal AM robot arm shells nested on build plate
Full-plate nest of metal AM robot arm shells still on the build plate — useful for talking through nesting density, powder escape paths between neighbors, and plate flatness after a multi-part run.
Typical specification
| Item | Typical value |
|---|---|
| Process | Multi-part metal AM plate |
| Material | Aluminum alloy |
| Form | Nested arm-shell blanks |
| Nesting | Row layout on build plate |
| Post | Wire-cut / band-saw off plate; finish TBD |
Why show a full plate
Batch nesting is a different conversation from a single studio shell: neighbor spacing, recoater clearance, and powder removal between parts dominate the RFQ.
- Minimum gap between shells for powder escape
- Shared support strategy that does not weld neighbors together
- Which parts are first articles versus production nests
Honesty bar
No claimed cycle times, laser counts, or cost-per-part figures on this page — bring those expectations on your RFQ if you have them.
