Design intent
Robot torsos often need stiffness, cable routing, and light weight in one blank. Lattice panels can cut mass while leaving solid pads for fasteners.
- Call which faces are primary datums versus cosmetic skins
- Keep bolt pads thick enough for taps or inserts
- Separate sealed cable glands from open lattice vents
Manufacturing notes
Orient the build so internal lattice cells stay flushable after support removal. Mark any faces that must be milled flat before assembly.
What to put on the RFQ
- Preferred aluminum alloy family
- Which pads and bores are critical
- Any coating or anodize keep-out zones (state them; we do not invent certifications)
